In this hike I splice together the current Tuxachanie Trail with part of the Bigfoot Red Loop to closely follow the original path.
Obviously I had no idea what I had walked into until I got home and looked it up online. The people here are primarily descendant from Chitimacha and Houma tribes.
Last week I explored the Pointe des Chene Wildlife Management Area. It is about an hour and a half south of New Orleans and covers an area of 33,488 acres. I managed to walk a stretch of about five miles.
